Ada Muoneke, a senior TA consultant at American Institutes for Research (AIR), serves as the REL Southwest's research alliance lead. In this role, Dr. Muoneke oversees the eight research alliances in the five states served by the REL Southwest. Previously, she worked for the Texas and Southeast Comprehensive Centers at SEDL, where she led technical assistance and professional development to build the capacity of state departments of education staff and intermediary agencies to meet the goals and provisions of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Dr. Muoneke has 30 years of experience in the field of education. Her areas of expertise include special education, Response to Intervention, addressing the academic needs of students with disabilities, and school turnarounds. She holds a B.S. in secondary education from Oklahoma State University and an M.Ed. and a Ph.D. in special education from the University of Texas at Austin.
