Dean Gerdeman, Ph.D., a managing researcher in the Education Program at American Institutes for Research (AIR), is a researcher working with the REL Southwest English Language Learners alliance. Dr. Gerdeman’s interests include research partnerships, program evaluation, and use of data to support improvement efforts. A former director of the REL Midwest, Gerdeman leads and advises REL research and analytic projects in AIR. His experienced includes leading high-profile projects with U.S. Department of Education, state education agencies, and other education clients and partners.
