Alliance Members from Byng Public Schools Host Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction
Members of our Oklahoma Rural Schools Research Alliance were pleased to host a tour for the newly elected Oklahoma state superintendent of public instruction, Joy Hofmeister, at Homer Elementary School on January 20, 2015. Homer Elementary is part of Byng Public Schools in Ada, Oklahoma.
Alliance members had the opportunity to share with Superintendent Hofmeister some of the work they’ve been doing with the REL Southwest around using data to inform instruction. Members of the Oklahoma Rural Schools Research Alliance, as well as 18 teachers and principals from Byng Public Schools, attended workshops in August and September 2014 to learn about the effective use of data to inform classroom instruction.
The workshops were held as part of the alliance’s Educators and Data Use Pilot project.
