Local, state, and federal agencies collect and manage a wealth of data that can be used to conduct education research and inform education policy and practice. With the many agencies that collect data, however, it can be difficult for researchers to locate, access, and evaluate the data they need.
To address this issue, we have created data inventories for six of our research alliances. These inventories identify all relevant data available at the federal, state, and local levels to support alliance research studies and projects. Each data inventory provides information on data sources, the data those sources provide, and the relevance of the data to the alliance’s research agenda.
The following documents provide overviews of the alliance data inventories, which are in Excel spreadsheets and available upon request.
